Webcomic to Print

After exploring “Homestuck” by Andrew Hussie in its print version and webcomic medium, the comic features static images, but also GIFs and instant message logs. The webcomic version also requires reader participation which I found quite entertaining and kept me engaged.   I found this style of webcomic was heavily influenced by games such as “Sims” which also influenced the movie style of “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch”. In Frank Bramlett’s article “Linguistic Discourse Webcomics”, discusses the affordances of webcomics through a linguistic perspective. Webcomics are very similar to regular print medium comics. Diving into Webcomics

Webcomics have recently thrived off of the birth of the internet. More people have been able to access the internet to read webcomics. However, economically it has been hard to keep up for artists and writers to fund their work.
